#1 What Happens in Vegas (2008)

Although it may seem uncommon for casino films, this one here is a romantic comedy featuring an impressive slot scene, which is the movie’s key premise. 

The story of the film revolves around four people, including Joy (Cameron Diaz) and Jack (Ashton Kutcher), and their friends whose lives changed completely after a night out in a Vegas hotel. The main protagonists, Joy and Jack, have loosened up after a few drinks and realized they love each other’s company a lot. They thought they were the perfect pair, and things got so serious that they decided to get married the same day.

However, once the sun rises the next day, they realize what mistake they have made the other day and head to the casino lounge to talk things out. They both decide to immediately get divorced and as a goodbye gift, Joy gives Jack a coin. But here, things take a completely different direction after Jack puts the coin into a slot machine and hits the biggest jackpot worth $3 million.

Jack and Joy both claim that they are the jackpot winners. After that, they will try their best to make things work for their marriage, and the jackpot serves as a reason to link them together for life.

Love love love this app. And, after receiving an email from Dan (the creator) that read as though it was a one-on-one communication sent only to me, I felt compelled to leave a long-overdue review. My son and I are absolutely addicted to this app…especially since I discovered it at the onset of the Marvel craze. Now we use it to confirm if there is a scene following the credits. Often times, we are the ONLY ones there watching the bonus scene…and it cracks us up. LOL! Thanks, RunPee!

This film is based on Vikas Swarup’s novel “Q & A” and is directed by Danny Boyle. 

Packed with the boundless energy, feelings, and colors that characterize Boyle’s works, Slumdog Millionaire is the story of Dev Patel, a poor Mumbai teenager. The boy’s rough-going life helps him win the Indian version of the program “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?”.

The film is all about the effort of the protagonist to find his true love, and every answer on the program brings him closer and closer to reconnecting with her.

Lottery Ticket is a cheerful teen comedy featuring Brandon Jackson, Naturi Naughton, and Bow Wow. The main storyline of the film concentrates on Kevin Carson, who works at Foot Locker and gets his hands on $370 million after winning a lottery.

After becoming a lucky owner of millions of dollars, he eventually starts to notice that all his neighbors, who started to be nice to him, were simply trying to take advantage of him. 

He used his grandma’s lucky numbers to win the draw. However, his success and luck inspired dishonesty from people around him who were only after his money.

Waking Ned Devine is a highly popular movie released in 1998. The narrative follows the lottery-winning story, and the main action focuses on two friends, Michael and Jackie. They get to know that someone in their small village has become the lucky owner of the lottery. 

These two friends, together with Jackie’s wife, try all the ways to discover the winner’s identity. However, they couldn’t even imagine that this person, who was Ned Divine, was already dead due to shock. 

#5 Vegas Vacation (1997)

Vegas Vacation is an attention-grabbing story about people who are trying to spend a family-friendly time in Sin City.

The film revolves around four key characters: Clark Griswold (Chevy Chase), Russ (Ethan Embry), Audrey (Marisol Nichols), and Ellen (Beverly D’Angelo). They leave Chicago and go to Vegas, only to discover that this city is not always kind and welcoming to naive tourists. But this is only until the moment Russ manages to win four sports cars with a couple of lucky slot game pulls.

Apart from the main protagonists, the film also has some great additions – a cameo appearance by Wayne Newton, the lounge singer and an antagonistic dealer played by Wallace Shawn, who gives Clark hard times throughout the vacation.
