I’m normally not a fan of torture scenes, but when it’s a white supremacist getting tortured, I’m not that bothered—little but not much.
What stood out the most to me in this movie is the acting. Yahya Abdul-Mateen II is outstanding. He has that thing Denzel Washington has: you can tell there is molten lava beneath a thin crust in just about every scene he’s in. My impression is that most people don’t rate Mark Wahlberg in the A+ tier of actors, but I think that’s where he belongs. He made his character likable dispite being a dispicable person. And there was one scene in the movie that got my attention. It isn’t easy for an actor to be in a scene all alone and still emote, but he did it.

Pacing
I appreciate that the director and editor put together a story that gives time to build a world from 60 years ago, a historical situation, characters and relationships without ever feeling like the story was skipping over something important or getting bogged down in minutiae.
History
I’m not qualified to speak to the treatment of the historical content. I can say that it made me feel shame for humanity but hope at the same time. So, nothing new.

One of the most useful apps I've ever come across. I've used it for years and recommended it to all my friends. Even if I'm not the type to have to pee during movies often, being able to pull up the app and pass my phone to my mom/friend/grandma so that they know when to go to the bathroom has been invaluable. Because then I don't have to summarize anything when they get back!!

A young Black FBI agent is sent into 1960s Mississippi to investigate a wave of brutal killings targeting civil rights leaders. Forced to work alongside notorious mafia hitman Greg Scarpa, he finds himself pulled into a deadly hunt where justice and vengeance begin to blur.
Creator and developer of the RunPee app. When something doesn’t work right in the app it’s pretty much his fault. 🙂
Aspiring author. Would like to finish his “Zombie Revelations” trilogy if he could break away for working on RunPee and the cottage he’s building for RunPee Mom.
