Tom and Jerry

Dare I say that Tom and Jerry is a classic cartoon series and there is no other series like it? Yes, I do. Tom and Jerry was an American animated series of short films that was initially made in 1940. It revolved around the rivalry between a cat (Tom) and a mouse (Jerry). In many of its episodes, you also got to see a dog, which used to be a perfect side character. Made by Joseph Barbera and William Hanna, Tom and Jerry had 161 short films as well as two movies, including Tom and Jerry: The Movie from 1992 and Tom and Jerry from 2021.

It was owned by Warner Brothers and is considered a classic to date. Even today, many people make their children watch Tom and Jerry. Also, Tom and Jerry stuffed toys and Tom-and-Jerry-themed products are widely available in various stores and online.

Courage the Cowardly Dog

Courage the Cowardly Dog was another amazing animated series. You can ask anyone from the 90s and they’ll tell you that Courage the Cowardly Dog has been a big part of their childhood. It was about paranormal spirits and ghosts. It revolved around a timid but incredibly sincere dog (Courage) who saved his owners, Muriel and Eustace, from the paranormal activities and ghosts around their place in every episode.

Yes, every episode of Courage the Cowardly Dog brought along a new story; however, the theme remained the same. At the end of every episode, Courage managed to save his owners. If anything, it reminded children of how they must make an effort to protect their loved ones for loyalty comes first.

The app gives you the best times to use the bathroom during a movie while also telling you when to leave and which lines to listen for! It not only gives you the time you should go pee, but it also explains to you what is happening during the break. I helped I use this app every time I go to the movies now. Teletubbies

Teletubbies was a British animated show that was broadcasted on BBC in the late 90s. It revolved around four tubbies, Tinky-Winky (the one in purple), Dipsy (the one in green), Laa-Laa (the one in yellow), and Po (the one in red). In every episode of Teletubbies, the four tubbies were seen going about their day in Teletubby land. There was also a baby-faced sun that smiled at them from a distance. Every episode of Teletubbies brought along a new story with a good lesson at the end.

Created by Anne Wood and Andrew Davenport, the Teletubbies was specially made for toddlers. The tubbies in the series were seen communicating through gibberish, so there wasn’t much to learn for older kids. However, the cartoon series left a huge mark on the industry with its eye-catching graphics and interesting short stories.

Lion King

The Lion King is a cartoon movie from 1994 that was extremely popular not only among kids but adults as well. Adapted from Hamlet by William Shakespeare, the Lion King revolved around Simba (a lion) who, as a cub, was forced to leave his land after his father’s unfortunate murder. The movie showed how he returned after so many years to reclaim his throne.

It is truly an all-time classic and is adored by people of many age groups, as mentioned earlier. Though it is super emotional, it teaches a great lesson about forgiveness at the end. It also shows you how you need to let things that happened in the past rest and look forward to the future with pride and your head held high. The only problem is that Lion King isn’t commonly available on the internet now. However, you can still find it by changing your IP address by using a VPN, read that sincere review on ExpressVPN, we’re certain that it could be helpful.

Scooby-Doo

Speaking of cartoons that changed the industry forever, the list remains incomplete without Scooby-Doo. It was an American animated cartoon series that ran for the longest. Initially launched in 1969, Scooby-Do ruled the cartoon world for many years. It revolved around Scooby-Doo (a talking dog) and his teenage friends, Velma Dinkley, Daphne Blake, and Fred Jones.

Every episode of Scooby-Doo was different with a theme of solving mysteries involving supernatural creatures. According to the TV Guide, Scooby-Doo is one of the greatest cartoons ever made. Besides the TV series, many comic books have also been published that are about Scooby-Doo or inspired by it. As of now, many newspapers write weekly and bimonthly columns on Scooby-Doo stories. It has become an international cult that’s not going anywhere anytime soon.

Looney Tunes

Looney Tunes was one of the earliest cartoon series. Launched in 1930, it ruled the cartoon world for years and is still a hot favorite of toddlers around the world. It has been dubbed in many languages and is supremely popular. It had a large cast of characters, including Porky Pig, Daffy Duck, Bugs Bunny, Pepe Le Pew, Sylvester, Foghorn Leghorn, Elmer Fudd, and Tweety.

Produced by Warner Brothers, Looney Tunes had a distinct storyline. In Looney Tunes, every character had its own story and all their stories moved simultaneously within the series. Although it wasn’t lesson-oriented, it kept children hooked for hours.

The Takeaway

Besides that, many other cartoon series like Powerpuff Girls and the Jetsons made a lasting impact on the cartoon industry. They remained popular for years and are remembered to date for their incredible characters and storylines. Regardless of the time changing and evolving, we see classics being adored by people even today.
