If you see a movie involving spaceships, super heroes, zombies, robots, or some other fantastical creature, then I probably did the Peetimes for it.

I studied Philosophy and History at Northern Arizona University. Naturally upon finishing school I became a software developer because that’s what philosophy majors do – anything except philosophy. I bounced around from Greensboro, NC to NYC and eventually got a great job working for the XBox team at Microsoft.

Shortly before working for Microsoft I had a crazy idea for an app that would tell people the best time to run and pee during a movie without missing anything. I procrastinated for about 3 years but finally decided to build the website, primarily because it seemed like a good project to practice learning MySQL. Funny thing is I still suck at MySQL, but the RunPee thing turned out pretty well.

I never expected RunPee to be anything other than a fun project but it has pretty much taken over my life. I make enough money from app sales to live modestly and pay my family to help get all those Peetimes. When I’m not busy working on something RunPee related I try to work on my fiction writing – something I’ve always wanted to do.

My first book is complete but it’s part of a trilogy so I’m going to wait until all three are done before self publishing. The books will be published together when they’re all finished. Who knows when that’ll be – I certainly don’t.

My wife and I have recently moved to North Carolina, near Asheville. It’s lovely here and we hope to purchase some property soon and make a small home.
