Movie Review – Good Boys – Raunchy Laughs, but Big Plotholes

Read Time:2 Minute, 11 Second

Movie Review - Good BoysGood Boys was awkwardly funny. Like really funny. I was worried I was going to pee from laughing so hard, and I can’t RunPee during movies, since I have to get the Peetimes for the rest of you.

There were moments I found myself chastising my inability to hold in my laughter. They pushed the envelope as far as one can be pushed. What I found the funniest was the situations that the boys were getting into was totally over their heads. Them being so young and naive, coupled with the situation, was priceless.

People are screaming over how wrong this movie is. They were scandalized because of the characters being tweens. Sure, it’s not every day you watch little ones swearing like sailors or learning to kiss on a sex doll. But is it any worse than watching criminals kill cops, or a homeless girl turn to prostitution?

There will always be something scandalous on the big screen; that’s what fills the seats. Good Boys is rated R for a reason, folks. Don’t take little Suzy or Johnny; you’re not gonna want to answer their questions afterwards.

The Actors: the Best Part of Good Boys

The actual boys were terrific little actors. Each of them brought just a little bit more spark to the movie. If I were basing my grade on them, it’s an A all the way. My grade faltered a bit due to some gaps in the continuity. There were enough to distract me from completely enjoying the movie.

Good Boys would make a great date night movie, just as long as neither of you are an uptight type. Walk in expecting to see some raunchy jokes, lots of sex toys, and a plot based on drugs.

Grade: C+

About The Peetimes: Good Boys is a really short movie, and they pack a lot of stuff into each scene, which makes finding Peetimes hard. I chose these 2 because they were easiest to sum up without losing a lot of punch. I’ll warn you though, there is humor in every scene, and I can’t duplicate that in a Peetime.

Brilliant idea with great information

I’ve been using RunPee for a few years now and it’s basically a requirement of going to the movies for me. The best part of course are the “pee times” that give you cues, synopses and times for when you can pee without missing the most important parts of the movie. There is also information about the credits- length, extras and if there are any extra scenes at the wayyy end. Super helpful to just know that it is or isn’t worth staying. There is a timer function that will buzz your phone when it’s a good time to pee. I also appreciate that the app is very conscientious about it being an app you use in a theater- dark background, all silent alarms etc. I will always enjoy the experience of the theater even if I could watch things at home- but I’ve even used it at home to check for things like after credit scenes or other information too.

There are no extra scenes during, or after, the end credits of Good Boys. (What we mean by Anything Extra.)

Rated (R) for strong crude sexual content, drug and alcohol material, and language throughout – all involving tweens

  1. I watched Good Boys on Sunday with my sister and had a great time. LOVED THIS. Laughed a whole lot — it was just what I needed.

But I can’t figure out what plot hole you mentioned. Just tell me here and say SPOILERS so people can skip it if they want. 🙂

    1. I am so glad you enjoyed it!! These comments are dear to me, it feels really good knowing that you laughed and had a chance to space out for a bit. Doesn’t that make life flow smoother? I like to compare it to us recharging our batteries, like our phones.

So here is where I have to admit defeat. I see so many movies that my brain has zero capacity to retain anything longer than a day. I’m always searching for my keys and feel lucky if I can find my phone in under an hour. So your plot hole question has me stumped. I re-read my review hoping to jog my memory. Another brick wall inside my brain…

I looked it up and it’s on DVD now, so I’m going to rent it and watch it over again. This has become personal, I shall find the answer to your question and I’ll get back to you.

I wonder if I was laughing so hard that I may have missed something. So thank you very much for posing this question, not only will I solve a mystery but I’m going to laugh again. A lot.

      Talk to you soon.

  2. The girls paid $550 with their own money to buy the drone to give to them to get their molly back. Couldn’t they just use that $550 to go buy a ton of Molly?
